  • Onam ‘Pookkalam’ Competition Criteria [Time: 8.00am – 10.00am]
  1. Radius of Pookkalam can range up to 1 meter. Team should only use fresh flowers, leaves and chirathu for the “Pookkalam”. Team should not use saw dust, artificial colours, roots, nuts and soil. Flowers purchasing amount should not exceed Rs.3000/-.
  2. Making the “Pookkalam” on a paper or on a pre-drawn board will lead to immediate disqualification. Traditional decorations like “nirapara” and “nillavillaku” will add points. Artistic value of “Pookkalam” is the main aspect (theme, colour combination, creativity, and neatness). Team must make the “Pookkalam” on the place provided by the organizers.
  3. Any team members intentionally messing up the nearby pookalam or the area allotted to the other teams will lead to immediate disqualification of the team. There will be Prize for the best “Pookkalam” and Judge’s decision will be final. Only team members can participate in the competition; teams can prepare the flowers, leaves even before the start time of competition.
  4. Competition will start exactly at “8.00 am” and also will be evaluated at the scheduled end time (10.00 am). Please note there will not be any exception on this case as we have a time schedule to meet in the venue.

  1. An ever rolling trophy will be awarded to the best team. Competition will be between Kadavanthara, Vytilla and infopark branches.
  2. Criteria “Dress Code, Team Work, Participation in Events, etc”.
