Allianz Announces New Temporary Resident Insurance
Allianz Global Assistance launched the Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC) last month. The OVHA will provide health insurance for international visitors staying in Australia on temporary resident visas (485).
The health insurance will cover hospital medical treatment, prescription medicines, surgically implanted prostheses and emergency ambulance transport. 485 visa holders are currently unable to access free or subsidised medical treatment through Medicare.
Many institutions currently have 485 visa holders in their courses and program.
