March 2017 Milestones:

  1. A training programme for the implementation of NABH standards for nursing excellence certification was held at Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, Mumbai on 25th – 26th March 2017.Ms. Elizabeth Joseph – Chief of Nursing (Wockhardt Hospital) and Ms. Clare D’ Mello – Asst. Nursing superintendent (Saifee hospital) were the speakers.

There were around 38 participants from across India. The group consisted of nursing           directors, nurse educators, nurse managers, staff nurses, representatives from                      companies catering to the health care industry, doctors, quality managers of hospitals         and accreditation consultants.

Ms Tintu Varghese, Ms Rinta Rajan  and Ms Thresiamma Sugathan attended the conference from our institute.

h12. Health Careers Institute Pvt. Ltd organized Health Sector Skill Council’s (HSSC) Train the Trainer Program for the following job roles between March 1st 2017 and March 10th 2017.

  1. General Duty Assistant (GDA)
  2. Home Health Aid (HHA)
  3. Diabetic Educator

h2 h3 h43. We celebrated International Women’s day on March 8th4

4. Health Careers Institute Pvt. Ltd has got conditional approval to conduct HSSC affiliated courses for the job role of GDA (General Duty Assistant) with government funding – PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana). The course will commence in the month of April 2017.

5. We conducted the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Basic Life Support ( BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) classes at several places. Our instructors led the course with competence.

6. A seminar on General Duty Assistant (GDA) course was organized by Health Careers Institute on March 21st.

j7. Our OET department conducted an in-house debate on “Legalization of Medical Marijuana” on March 10th All our students participated in the lively discussion.

8. Health Careers Institute is going to commence the training for ASAP(Additional Skill Acquisition Programme)  regular batch students from  3rdApril 2017 onwards. This is the first time that HCI will be joining  hands with ASAP – a joint initiative of General Education Department and Higher Education Department, Government Of Kerala, to equip the students at Government and Government Aided Higher Secondary Schools with the healthcare specific skills to work as a “Home Health Aide”. The classes will be conducted in 2 centers, GHSS Pezhakkappilly Muvattupuzha and GHSS, Chandiroor, Alappuzha.
