April 2017 Milestones:

  1. Mr. Eldhose Kuravakkattu Aliyas attended the TOT (Training of the Trainer Programme) from 15th March to 25th March 2017 at Aluva, Kerala conducted by Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC).
  2. Mr. Jeril Cherian and Mr. Jain Paul N P attended the TTT (Train the Trainer Programme) on Pre Departure Orientation Training- IISC (India International Skill Centre) from 27th March to 31st March 2017 at Delhi conducted by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), International Organization for Migration (IOM) [a UN migration agency] and India Centre for Migration (ICM).111213
  3. Mr. Jeril Cherian, Mr. Jain Paul N P and Ms. Elmy Baby attended the ToT (Train the Trainer Programme) on International Bridge Course – IISC (India International Skill Centre) from 1st April to 2nd April 2017 at Delhi conducted by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation).

4. The HCI was visited by Dr. Grayson Perry, Trade Commissioner for the Australian Government on 3rd April, 2017.

5. ASAP Regular Class for the course “Home Health Aide” has started on 03/04/2017 at the Skill Development Centers: – GHSS Pezhakkappilly Muvattupuzha and GHSS, Chandiroor, Alappuzha.

6. The “Kaushal Mela 2017”organized by Health Careers Institute, was conducted at the  K.M Mohammed Community Hall, Mattancherry, Kochi at 11am on Saturday, the 8th of April, 2017. Under the esteemed guidance of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) implemented the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). This Flagship Scheme was launched on 15th July, 2015 on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, driving towards greater realization of the vision, “Skilled India”.  The mela was attended by around 150 participants.

7. The first batch of NCAP has started as an online section on the 10th of this month. We have 7 students attending the program.

8. The first batch of students for the GDA program has started on 24th April. The General Duty Assistant or GDA program is designed to provide quality care to patients admitted in nursing homes and hospitals. Upon successful completion of the course, students become qualified to take the Healthcare Sector Skills Council (HSSC) competency exam and become certified GDAs and thus work in an efficient and knowledgeable manner. We have 30 students who have registered for this program.

9.We have a new staff member, Ms. Rubiancca Francina Agrawal, who joined us in the OET department this month. We welcome her to the HCI family.

10. The OET department is proud to announce that of 4 of our students have passed their exams with ‘B’ grade. The successful students are: Amala, Jemmy, Anju and Ann Liya. Congratulations to all of you!
