October 2017 Milestones:
- The AHA team conducted a workshop session on the management of cardiac arrest and choking on 29th September at the Vytilla Mobility Hub, Ernakulam. The event was inaugurated by the honorable MLA, Mr. Hibi Eden. The event started with a balloon release and featured a talk by Dr. Vinod Thomas, senior cardiologist, Head of Interventional Cardiology at Renai Medicity, which was followed by a demonstration and mock drill conducted by our experienced trainers.
2. Welcome news for trained nurses- from 1 November 2017 the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) will formally recognise OET – the Occupational English Test for registration in the UK.
3. The NCAP affiliation has got approved for HCI and the classes will be starting within one month.
4. Our AHA team conducted BLS training at Lords hospital, Trivandrum from 16- 21 October 2017. Mr. Prashant and Mr. Christopher were the trainers and around 25 nurses took part in the session. Another session was conducted on 25th and 26th October 2017 in Lakeshore hospital Ernakulam.
5. An in-service education was conducted on the topic “Stress management”. The session was taken by Ms. Sruthi Bhaskaran on 20th October 2017.
6. Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” was celebrated with our GDA students undertaking an initiative to clean the Elders Forum Park, Panampalliy Nagar. Our entire office premises was cleaned by the staff of HCI.
7. Lini Sara George has joined our institute this month and we heartily welcome her to the HCI family.
