Onam is the time of year that unites all Malayalees, regardless of race or religion…it is an outpouring of joy from the heart, and celebrates the harvest – a reward of nature after months of hard work! This year Onam at MWT was an extra special event as we had with us our distinguished guests from Australia, our CEO Mr. Bijo Kunnumpurath and Dr. Jacob Thomas.
The office sported a festive look, with all the staff turned out in traditional attire- men in shirt and dhotis and women in graceful and charming kasavu sarees. The main events held were the Shinkarimelam, Pookalam and Onasaddhya. The Aviyal team emerged the winners of the colourful Pookalam competition- way to go, Team Aviyal! The sumptuous Onam saddhya was relished by everyone. After the grand meal, there were many recreational activities including a traditional Thiruvathira dance, Group Songs and Group dances.
This day will stay etched in our memories for a long time!
