Summer Drinks to Beat The Heat

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian practice of energy balance, states that certain ingredients have properties that can help you beat the heat. Do check out these recipes to help you stay cool !

Tea with Hibiscus and Lime

Place 2 cups water with 1 tablespoon of dried hibiscus flowers in a saucepan on the fire .Once it comes to a rolling boil, reduce heat and simmer for a minute. Switch off the gas and keep covered for 5 minutes to let the flavor develop. Strain and discard the flowers. Chill in the fridge. Add honey to taste and serve with a slice of lemon.

Pudina, cucumber and lime smoothie.

Blend 1 cup chopped cucumber, 8 fresh mint (pudina) leaves, 2-4 tsp of lime and 4 cubes of ice together with rock salt and pepper to taste in a blender till smooth.

Enjoy in a tall glass, chilled!
