THE MWT BULLETIN – April 2016

Hello again from the MWT Bulletin team! Along with the rising summer temperatures, the work pressure has been cranked up at MWT as well. April was a very busy month across all our offices – and we bring you news of all that’s been keeping us abuzz!

We celebrated the New Year Vishu in our Kerala offices on April 14th. Vishu is a time to welcome a fresh new year full of aspiration and hope. May this year bring all of you at MWT happiness and prosperity, and may all your dreams come true this year.

Student Evolution 2016, a seminar on Higher education overseas and nursing opportunities in Australia was held on April 16th at Kottayam and April 17th at Kochi. Conducted in association with popular Malayalam newspaper Mathrubumi, the seminar included an insightful session by P. R. Venkitaraman, a BLS workshop, interactive discussions by IHNA delegates, and a well attended face to face counseling session. We hope to conduct many more such seminars in future and reach out to more students across the country.

World Diabetes Day was observed on 7th April, and Earth Day was celebrated on April 22. There has been an alarming rise in the incidence of diabetes worldwide, and by generating more awareness about this lifestyle disease, patients can stay healthy by making slight modifications to their diet and lifestyle. This year, the theme of Earth Day is to plant more trees- and as we are all becoming painfully aware of climate change due to the sizzling temperatures and water scarcity across the country, we must each do our bit to combat the reality of global warming.

That’s it for now, then. Do write in at usha@mwtedu.com , we look forward to hearing from you!
