After a long sweltering summer, the first showers of the year are here! A welcome respite from the oppressive heat and humidity, the monsoon is a celebration of water as the life-giving force of our earth. ‘A lifetime of showers moistens the soul’: so said an ancient anonymous soul, and never were truer words spoken! The first sparkling drops of the monsoon evoke images of new life and new beginnings – of sprouting leaves, the crisp clean breeze and the wonderfully fresh smell of rain washing the parched earth.
