The Onam week has come and gone, and at HCG this year too we welcomed Maveli in traditional splendour and style! We held our annual celebrations ‘Olam 2017’ on the 1st September at Vinayaka Auditorium, Kadavanthra. The day was one of spirited competition and good-natured camaraderie, as our four Chundan Valloms fought to win the cultural team events. The hidden talents of our staff burst forth in music and dance, and everyone enjoyed the day! Warm Onam greetings to all our dear readers, and we hope this festival has brought you and your family togetherness and joy.
The World Breastfeeding Week was initiated and celebrated by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action in the year 1992. The benefits of mother’s milk extend well beyond basic nutrition; and across the world medical authorities laud breastfeeding practices for many reasons. It is highly recommended to all mothers that they should breastfeed their child for the first six months of life, and even beyond that. We bring you an article.
